Susceptible respiratory tract infections, UTI, ENT, skin & soft tissue infections, prophylaxis in surgical procedures. Clinical selection for Cephradine should follow culture results where relevant, Kenya STG/EML recommendations, and the current product SmPC. By mouth, 250500 mg every 6 hours or 0.51g every 12 hours; up to 1g every 6 hours in severe infections; child, 2550mg/kg daily in 24 divided doses. By deep I.M injection or by I.V injection over 35 minutes or by I.V infusion, 0.51g every 6 hours, increased to 8g daily in severe infections; child 50100mg/kg daily in 4 divided doses. Surgical prophylaxis, by deep I.M injection or by I.V injection over 35 minutes, 12g at induction
GI disturbances, allergic reactions, anaphylaxis, genital and anal pruritis, dizziness, fatigue, headache, toxic psychosis, convulsions, super-infection, moniliasis.
