- Milk & Calcium-Rich Foods (Dairy, Yogurt, Cheese, Calcium Antacids) Polyvalent calcium cations chelate with fluoroquinolone molecules in the gut, reducing oral drug absorption by 50% to 70%. Administer at least 2 hours before or 6 hours after dairy or calcium-fortified products.
- Caffeine (Coffee, Tea, Energy Drinks) Inhibits hepatic CYP1A2 metabolism of caffeine, leading to elevated caffeine levels, cardiac palpitations, nervousness, tremors, and insomnia.
