By mouth, 250500 mg every 6 hours or 0.51g every 12 hours; up to 1g every 6 hours in severe infections; child, 2550mg/kg daily in 24 divided doses. By deep I.M injection or by I.V injection over 35 minutes or by I.V infusion, 0.51g every 6 hours, increased to 8g daily in severe infections; child 50100mg/kg daily in 4 divided doses. Surgical prophylaxis, by deep I.M injection or by I.V injection over 35 minutes, 12g at induction
Paediatric
