Hypertension, oedema, nephrogenic diabetes insipidus, osteoporosis in postmenopausal women, calcium nephrolithiasis. Clinical selection for Bendroflumethiazide should follow culture results where relevant, Kenya STG/EML recommendations, and the current product SmPC. Class context: Therapeutic agent (verify pharmacological class). Confirm site-specific dose, duration and monitoring before prescribing.
Oedema: 5-10mg OD or on alternate days, maintenance: 2.5-10mg 1-3 times weekly. Hypertension: 2.5mg OD (Higher doses may not be required).
GI disturbances, hypokalaemia, manifestations of latent diabetes, sensitivity reactions, blood dyscrasias, postural hypotension, reversible impotence, gout, pancreatitis, blurred vision, muscle spasm, hypomagnesia, natraemia and chloraemic alkalosis, and hypercalceamia.
Store as labelled. Keep out of reach of children.
